MEET THE TRAINERS

Chris was born and raised in northern Georgia just about 50 minutes north of Atlanta. Chris graduated high school in 2001. While working a normal nine to five, he watched with anger in disbelief, the terror attacks that occurred on September 11th . That same week, he went to his local US Army Recruiting station and joined the Army.

He served seven years on active duty with three 18-month deployments to the middle east. During these deployments, he developed a passion for dog training. His military career was cut short when the vehicle he was in got struck by a roadside bomb just outside Sadr City. In 2008 Chris joined the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police department where he served on a multitude of different units from Crime Suppression Unit, K-9 Unit, Traffic Unit and the S.W.A.T Team as a Team Leader.

In 2017 Chris accepted a job as the Multi-Purpose Canine Master Trainer (MPC) for the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning Georgia. Chris is responsible for the procurement and daily maintenance training of all dog teams assigned. In his free time, Chris travels around the country assisting Special operations units, SWAT and K-9 Teams on advance deployment tactics. Since 2001, Chris has been either serving our Country or his Community. In addition to serving as a Special Operations Dog Trainer, Chris is also an active Deputy Sheriff. In 2021 Chris founded North Georgia K9 to share his passion for dog training with pet dog owners. Chris’s vision was to provide high level of obedience, control and customer service that’s unmatched in the dog training industry.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING...

North Georgia k9 did a marvelous job with our German Shepherd. Our dog Fang came to North Georgia K9 very protective and scared all in new environments outside our home. He also did not tolerate other people or dogs. Through the training, Fang received with North Georgia K9 we now have a dog that we can take places and we now have the tools necessary for outside interaction with people and dogs. The owner Chris and his staff were very patient with our sometimes difficult dog and their exposure with Fang will forever mark him. North Georgia K9 did an excellent job keeping us informed of Fang's progress though out each day and we loved the videos as well. We learned Fang's commands as he was learning as well. Fang received much more exposure to the outside world and went on many adventures. We are excited to continue Fang's training so he can be the dog we always hoped he'd be! Thank you NGK9!

I have a Great Dane, and anyone who knows the breed, knows they do a few thing best...sleep, be startled at odd things (like flies, bags that rustle, anything that moves unexpectedly) and they can be highly unmotivated when it comes to training. I came to Mel with my long list of questions about different ways I could approach training my sleeping beauty. I appreciate all the attention and care given to each question, along with tips, tricks and high reward treats to entice correct behavioUr. I'm sure I will have plenty of dogs in my life and will continually seek advice from this knowledgeable staff when it comes to training!
